How long have you been with Greensleeves?

One year.

Who else is on your team?

I mainly work on my own. Sometimes, when going through busy periods with scarification and aeration works, I will get help from my father-in-law Thomas. He likes to help and to see improvement on the lawns as much as I do.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Making people happy by helping them achieve the lawn they always wanted. It is surprising how much that means for some people.

Why did you choose to specialise in lawns?

Working on lawns started as most people do – learning on your own, borrowing tips and techniques from literature and online. Going through all the techniques and testing equipment which is required to maintain a lawn throughout the year, the hobby turned into my passion and eventually I decided to start my own lawn care business.

Which is your favourite season to work in?

Every season has its own advantages, but it’s the autumn when you get most lawns looking stunning – well-hydrated and complemented by the beautiful colours of autumn foliage around them.

What do you like to listen to in your van?

Magic Soul, sports stations, audiobooks, and sports/history podcasts.

Are you a tea or coffee person? Or something else entirely?

I love good English tea, but I also like classic Italian espresso.
