Greensleeves Tunbridge Wells

Here at Greensleeves, we pride ourselves on our personal service and attention to detail when carrying out work on your lawn. Thousands of customers nationwide already benefit from our services.

Seasonal treatments programme

We provide five regular visits throughout the year, to keep your lawn in the best condition possible. These visits consist of a detailed programme of treatments designed to combat the most common lawn problems, such as moss and weeds.

Greensleeves Lawn Care has fully trained staff; all are National Proficiency Test Council qualified (NPTC) and offer a customised service for each lawn with five seasonal treatments a year. These offer the right product, applied in the right quantity, at the right time. All the products used are professional products, unavailable to the DIY market – yet often work out cheaper.

In addition, we can carry out the following specialist work:

  • Scarification
  • Aeration
  • Lawn renovation
  • Lawn pest control
  • Overseeding
  • Lawn repairs

Don’t despair if you think your lawn is beyond repair, it probably isn’t! We specialise in lawn renovation where we double-scarify, aerate, re-seed and top dress to establish a new lawn – at a fraction of the price of re-turfing.

If you feel your lawn is not up to scratch or there is an obvious problem that needs attention, call us and arrange a visit. Whatever the condition of your lawn, we will give you an honest assessment and provide you with a free no obligation quotation.

Hard surface weed control

We can also provide weed control to your drive pathways or patio. Whatever the surface (gravel, stone, brick or tarmac) your hard surfaces can be as weed-free as your lawn. If you’re struggling in the battle against weeds, just call us and we will be pleased to provide a free no-obligation quotation.

Everything we do is:

  • Safe for children and pets
  • No hidden extras
  • No long-term contract
  • NPTC-qualified staff
  • Locally owned and operated business

At Greensleeves we pride ourselves on the quality of the lawn care service we provide. We are passionate about lawns. We will not cut corners and we promise to provide your lawn with the care and attention it deserves. Putting it simply – we do what we say we’ll do, when we say we’ll do it.

Q&A with Chris and Ray Dibble from Greensleeves Lingfield and Tunbridge Wells

How long have you been with Greensleeves?

Tunbridge Wells franchise launched in March 2013, then we took over our second franchise, Lingfield, in April 2017.

Tell us a little bit about what you do…

Daily duties and carrying out treatments on the lawns, as well as dealing with the administrative side of the business.

Who else is on your team?

We have a small dedicated team who all share the aim of providing the best service that they can.

Which areas do you cover?

Borough Green, Crowborough, Edenbridge, Hartfield, Hartley, Hildenborough, Kings Hill, Longfield, Marden, New Ash Green, New Barn, Paddock Wood, Pembury, Southborough, Staplehurst, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Wadhurst, Wateringbury, West Kingsdown, West Malling, Wrotham

What’s the most unusual obstacle you’ve had to overcome, i.e. steepest/biggest/roughest lawn?

Probably the most difficult logistic challenge was a very large lawn renovation involving 11 tonnes of material which need to be moved into an inaccessible rear garden. In the end, removing fence panels and carrying it through by hand was the only way in. Of course, all the fencing was completely reinstated upon completion of our work.

Are you a dog or a cat person? (Or anything else!)

Ray has cats and dogs in his household. I have a family of tortoises.

What’s the best thing about your job?

As the seasons change, so do the day-to-day duties. There’s always a change on the horizon, so no chance of getting bored. Also, the obvious benefits of being out and about, meeting our lovely customers and working in nice gardens.

Why did you choose to specialise in lawns?

We both enjoy the outdoor life. We also like being in charge of our own destiny and being responsible for managing our own time. Lawn care work utilises our strengths of reliability, attention to detail and customer-facing skills.

Which is your favourite season to work in?

Like many people, seeing the emergence of improving weather and nature bursting into life means that spring is our favourite season. Spring also heralds a growth spurt in our business, so as we get to grips with the targets for each year’s performance spring gives us a chance to get off to a flying start.

What do you like to listen to in your van?

This is probably a reflection on our age: Radio 2 and Radio 4 are often on. As for music, it can be almost anything: old-school rock, R&B, rap…

Which is your favourite service station?

None. We make every attempt to avoid motorway traffic where possible. Luckily, we work in an area with large rural patches, so motorways do not often come into our working day.

What’s your favourite post-work snack or lunch item?

Often lunch simply gets missed, but as an occasional naughty treat, a McDonald’s always goes down well.

Are you a tea or coffee person? Or something else entirely?

Mostly soft drinks for Ray when working but I’m a self-confessed coffee addict!

What are your social media channels?

To a small degree, we use Facebook and Twitter within the business. No personal social media.

If people would like to speak to you, what are the best ways to get in touch?

Any way you like… everyday communication with customers come through landline and mobile telephone, texts, WhatsApp and emails.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention?

We remember from our earliest days discussing how Greensleeves is not a gardening business, but a customer service business. Customers are the purpose of our work, not an interruption to it, and we make every effort to keep them happy.

Since we joined Greensleeves things have gradually changed. The business has stayed current, utilises technology where possible, and has an eye on the future within our industry. The range of services we offer has expanded and the administrative side of the business has improved enormously. Hopefully these changes and updates will continue. This is important to us, because we see our business as part of a long-term plan and if we are not evolving and growing, we will be left behind. We are very much aligned with the company ambitions.

We consider ourselves lucky to have the support of the head office team and see things as a partnership. HQ work hard for us and we work hard to grow our business and be a contributing part of the network.
