Gary Birbeck and his wife Julie are now in their fifteenth season running the Greensleeves franchise in the North Yorkshire region. They provide quality lawn care treatments throughout the York and Selby area. In addition they also cover all of the Ryedale area including Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside, Malton, Pickering, surrounding villages and along the east coast.

How long have you been with Greensleeves?

“Nearly 15 years.”

Tell us a little bit about what you do…

“We’re all about looking after customers and their lawns. Simple as that!”

Who else is on your team?

“Jack has been with me for about 12 years and Jeremy for around eight. Of course, Julie’s been with me for 33 years!”

Which areas do you cover?

“York, Ryedale, Malton, Pickering,  Scarborough and many many villages in between.”

What’s the most unusual obstacle you’ve had to overcome i.e. steepest/biggest/roughest lawn?

“They’re all a challenge.”

What’s the best thing about your job?

“I’ve got loads of lovely customers and made lots of new friends over the years. It’s a wonderful way to earn a living.”
