GREENSLEEVES LAWN SURGERY

RUST

What is lawn rust?

Like many plants, lawn grasses are susceptible to rust. This general term refers to many types of fungal infections, with orange-coloured spores that grow on blades of grass, turning them an eponymous rusty colour. Rust is not going to kill your lawn, but it does make it look orange and so less appealing.

How do you treat lawn rust?

Lawn rust can be treated by maintaining a good lawn care regime. Keep your lawn well fed and mow it regularly, ensuring that you dispose of all the clippings to stop the disease spreading to other parts of the lawn.

Our hollow tine aeration treatment reduces compaction and improves nutrient and airflow to the grass root, which can help keep your lawn healthy and prevent rust. Where the disease is severe, fungicide applications may be necessary.
